24-Hour Workforce for Recovering Post-Tsunami Electricity

Monitor Utama. Two days after the tsunami that hit the Banten and Lampung regions, PLN sought to accelerate the repair of electricity infrastructure in the affected areas and provide assistance in the form of food, baby food, medicines, worship equipment, toiletries and baby diapers.

In Bandar Lampung, especially Way Mulih Village, Kalianda Lampung is one of the villages that was severely affected by the Tsunami. PLN UID Lampung fielded a technical service team of 40 people and technical employees to the disaster site to help restore electricity conditions as soon as possible.

Of the total 30 distribution substations at the location, 27 distribution substations have been restored or around 90% of the total electricity recovery in the village.

In addition to the restoration of the electricity infrastructure, PLN and the Baitul Maal Foundation (YBM) also provide a number of medical and non-medical assistance.

As well as not less importantly on this occasion YBM PLN also provided further education to graduate high school scholarships to two orphans who were victims of the disaster.

"PLN will work day and night to accelerate the process of repairing electrical infrastructure in affected areas, Lampung and Pandeglang. Hopefully the presence of electricity can provide a little light for those affected by the tsunami," said Corporate Communication and CSR Executive Vice President I Made Suprateka in his written statement On Tuesday (12/25/2018).

In the Pandeglang and Carita regions, Banten, currently PLN has managed to turn on 180 substations, the substations are still extinguished and in an effort to repair as many as 68 substations. And 16 transmission poles were successfully re-established.

With a strength of a total of 199 personnel deployed in the affected areas of the tsunami, PLN also brought in a number of assistance from all UP3 Banten executives, UP3 Disjaya, UP3 Bogor, PDKB teams.
