BPBD Data on Damaged Houses due to Rain accompanied by Strong Winds in Sukabumi

Indonesia Kanal. Heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds hit a number of areas of Sukabumi Regency, West Java, Friday (11/01/2019) afternoon until evening.

Temporary data of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency, the region hit by strong winds, among others, Cicantayan District, Cibadak, Cikidang, Parakansalak, Bojonggenteng, and Kalapanunggal.

"Until tonight we have received reports from several districts of wind rain accompanied by hail," said Head of the Emergency Section, BPBD Sukabumi Regency, Eka Widiaman in a written statement received by Kompas.com, Friday night.

Eka said, volunteer members in each subdistrict were still registering homes damaged due to the brunt of strong winds. While the information received, there were a number of damaged houses hit by fallen trees.

"We are still registering, for the time being there have been no reports of casualties," Eka said.

Heavy rains accompanied by wind and lightning also occurred in landslides in the Cimapag Hamlet, Sirnaresmi Village, Cisolok District, Friday.

The rain lasts around 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Landslides on the slopes of Mount Sorandil were eroded again by water. The flow of water flows in the cracks of avalanches until it empties into the small river of Cimapag.
