Gerindra: Novel Combined Team Indicated for the Interest of the Presidential Debate
Kabar Hub. The Gerindra Party criticized the formation of a joint team of investigators in the Baswedan Novel case. According to Gerindra, the joint team was deliberately formed in the interests of Jokowi in the face of the presidential-vice presidential debate on January 17, 2019.
"The formation of a joint investigation team by the National Police is indicated only for the sake of the presidential and vice presidential debate next week," said Gerindra DPP Communication Board member Andre Rosiade, told reporters on Saturday (1/12/2019).
Andre said the joint team was formed so that Jokowi had an answer if he got a question about the continuation of the terror case against the Novel. It is known, the initial debate of the vice-presidential candidates was themed law, human rights, corruption, and terrorism.
"It feels like just to answer if there is a question to the president about Baswedan's novel. The president can say that there is a new team formed. Even though what is needed by the community is not this new team, but TGPF is on Novel's request, KPK, and society, "he said.
The joint team of investigators to uncover terror cases against the novel was formed by National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian on Tuesday (1/8). The team was formed through the Chief of Police's Task Letter Number Sgas / 3 / I / HUK.6.6 / 2019. The formation of this joint team was based on the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission for the National Police regarding the case of the novel which never came to light.
Andre was pessimistic that the joint team could uncover the case of the novel. Because, according to him, this joint team is a 'recycling team'.
"We hope that this team will work properly. But we are pessimistic, that this team can solve the Novel case. This is the recycling team. The old team has a new name," Andre said.
